ENTHUSIASM OF VISITORS TO INDONESIAN STAND IN THE 16TH UKRAINE INTERNATIONAL TRAVEL & TOURISM (UITT) IN KYIV

 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 

 

In an effort to attract Ukraine tourists to visit Indonesia, on 24-26 March 2010 Indonesian Embassy in Kyiv participate the 16th Ukraine International Travel & Tourism exhibition (UITT). On this event, Indonesian Embassy promoted various potential tourist objects in Indonesia such as Bali, Java, Bintan, Maluku, Kalimantan, Sulawesi, Papua, etc, by distributing brochures, leaflets, books in Russian and English. The visitors seemed enthusiastic about the various tourist attractions in Indonesia and asked the procedure how to obtain Indonesian visa. It is estimated that approximately 2,000 people visiting Indonesian stand in three-day of the exhibition.

 

UITT is Ukraine's annual program which is supported by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Ukraine and Kyiv City Government. This exhibition is a means for meeting place among tour operators, travel agents, hotel, and tourism media, including foreign embassies from various countries who want to provide information and promotions about tourist attractions, tourism and industrial product to Ukrainian tourists who want travelling abroad.

 

           This year, the exhibition occupies an area of 12,500 m2 and more than 410 companies from 40 countries participated. The newcomers of this exhibition are from Abu Dhabi, Mauritius, Reunion, South Africa and Morocco. The participants decreased compared to 2009, 761 companies from 71 countries participated. However, the number of visitors during 3 (three) days of exhibition was almost the same as the previous year, approximately 15,000 people.

 

            The participation of Indonesian Embassy in the 16th UITT was expected to increase and invited tour operators, travel agents, hotels, media, tourism and Ukrainian tourist (population of ± 46 million) to visit Various tourist spots in Indonesia. So far, based on data from the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Ukraine, in 2009 the Ukrainian tourists traveling abroad reached 15.3 million people, 5131 Ukrainian tourists visit Indonesia, especially Bali. Therefore, this event needs to be utilized, because the visitors generally come from the main actors of tourism industries in Ukraine.  (Source: Indonesian Embassy in Kyiv)
