The Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Kabul actively partook in the Afghan Home Expo 2017 in Kabul, Afghanistan which was held from 7th to 11th of February, 2017. Around 120 exhibitors from Afghanistan, Indonesia, Iran, United States of America, Azerbaijan, United Arab Emirates, Germany, as well as Japan participated in this exhibition organized by the Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) and Union of Electronics Traders in Afghanistan.
This exhibition was officially opened by the Deputy Minister of Commerce and Industry of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, Mr. Muhammad Qurban Haqjo, accompanied by the First Vice Chairman of ACCI, Mr. Haji Khanjan Alkozay. At the opening ceremony, there were also representatives of private sectors from all participating countries, including Indonesian Embassy in Kabul.
The embassy used this exhibition as an opportunity to promote products of handicrafts and wood-carving from several provinces in Indonesia. In addition, the Embassy also promoted upcoming exhibition activities in Indonesia such as International Handicraft Trade Fair (INACRAFT) 2017, Indonesia International Furniture Expo (IFEX) 2017, and 32th Trade Expo Indonesia (TEI).
Many visitors of the exhibition were very enthusiastic to visit Indonesia booth because of its distinct features from other participants' booths. Most of the visitors were very interested with Indonesia's handicraft products, especially Batik, and also other products such as tea, instant noodles and beauty care products from Indonesia.
