Consul General of the Republic of Indonesia in Hong Kong, Mr. Ferry Adamhar, officially opens the first Indonesian Movie Week 2010 at Agnès b. CINEMA!, Hong Kong Arts Center, Wan Chai, Hong Kong (1/6) at 7 pm.
Consul General Ferry explained that this event is in conjunction with the commemoration of the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relation between the Republic of Indonesia and the People’s Republic of China. Indonesian Movie Week is considered as a way to introduce Indonesia as a whole to Hong Kong, in particular the current development of Indonesian movie industry.
Furthermore, Ferry Adamhar expected Indonesian Movie Week 2010 to give another push on the enhancement of movie-related cooperation between Indonesia and Hong Kong. This event is also perceived as an appreciation to Indonesian movie makers.
In organizing the Indonesian Movie Week 2010, the Consulate General is supporteds by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Republic of Indonesia. “Ruma Maida” (2009) is chosen to open the Indonesian Movie which runs until for four days (1-4/6). The next three days of screening consecutively show “Merah Putih” (2009), “Anne van Jogja” (2005) and “Heartbreak.com” (2009).
Indonesian Movie Week is open for public and is free of charge.
