?Indonesian Ambassador, Zakaria Anshar, presented credentials to President of Rwanda, Paul Kagame, in Kigali, 26 January 2015. Credentials is also presented by three other envoys; Ambassador Erica Jean Barks-Ruggles of the United States, Ambassador Mehmet Raif Karaca representing Turkey and Ambassador Alexis Ntukamazina of Burundi.
Amb. Zakaria is appointed as Indonesian Ambassador to Rwanda with residence in Dar es Salaam. On press briefing after presenting credentials, he said his core goals would be to enhance the existing cordial relations between his nation and Rwanda, especially in the area of economic and technical cooperation.
“We are of the belief that by exploring each of our capacity we are going to be closer in the field of economy. We are supposed to improve our trade which stood at USD 1.2 million as of 2013 which doesn’t show the real capacity of the potential of the two countries,” he said.
Amb. Zakaria started his diplomatic career in 1985 at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia. Before appointed as Ambassador of Indonesia to Rwanda, he served as Consul General of Indonesia in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
