Tanzanian President Jakaya Kikwete was astounded by the wonderful scenery of Indonesia. The president was also impressed with the quality of Indonesian products. He also praised Indonesian development.
“Indonesia is a beautiful country and grows fast. Indonesia has also high quality products,” said Kikwete when visited Indonesian Embassy Exhibition booth at the 38th Dar es Salaam International Trade Fair (DITF), Saturday (5/7).
Accompanied by Minister for Industry and Trade Abdallah Kigoda, Kikwete enjoyed Indonesian booth. It was a special moment as the president only visited several booths. Indonesian Embassy exhibition booth displayed products of Tjiwi Kimia (paper company) and Ateja (textile manufacturing company). Indonesia also introduced its tourism.
Minister Counsellor of Indonesian Embassy to Tanzania concurrently accredited to Burundi, Rwanda, and the Union of Comoros Hadi Sasmito said the participation of Indonesian Embassy in DITF is to facilitate business opportunity for both Indonesian and Tanzanian businessmen.
“We want to introduce Indonesian products to Tanzania and other African countries such as Kenya, Burundi, Rwanda, Nigeria, Zambia, and South Africa. Indonesian Embassy acted as the facilitator to extend the business link between Indonesian and African companies,” said Hadi.
Futhermore, Hadi explained Indonesian Embassy has participated in DITF annually. In the 37th DITF 2013, Indofood (food industry) with the well known product Indomie and Nutrifood Indonesia (healthy food and beverage company) took part. DITF is an annual international trade fair which reaches peak on 7th July. This date is known as Saba Saba, which literally translates as Seven Seven - the seventh day of the seventh month. Saba Saba is Workers Day, and is a National Holiday for Tanzania. ?
