Indonesia and the United States agreed to foster bilateral relations in various fields through the optimization of Joint Commission meeting. Besides reaffirming the importance of strengthening the bilateral relations in the framework of the Comprehensive Partnership which was launched in 2010, it is also understood the need for flexibility in the approach to the regular meeting mechanism.

In helping the African Union Member Countries to increase food resilience, Indonesia held the “International Training Workshop on Water Management in Agriculture for African Union Member Countries" at the Indonesian Embassy in Addis Ababa (15/05). "This program is one of the real steps carried out by Indonesia to help capacity building for development in Africa,” said Head of Technical Cooperation Sub Directorate of Middle East Africa Region in his speech.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs repatriated 90 Indonesian citizens from Syriavia Beirut, Lebanon in 2groups. The second group consisting of 45 people arrived today (14/5) following the first one also consisting of 45 people arriving the day before (13/5)by Airline Etihad. These are the 121st and 122nd of such measures done by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Responding to news of the opening of the "Free West Papua office" in Oxford, England, Indonesian government expressed strong protest and object onto the development. "On our instructions, the Inddonesian ambassador in London has expressed the stance of the Government to the British Government", said Foreign Minister, RM Marty M. Natalegawa in Jakarta this afternoon (04/05). The same thing will be done to the British embassy in Jakarta.

Enhancing Bilateral Cooperation, Indonesia-Colombia Holding First Session of the Joint Commission

Efforts to enhance bilateral relations between Indonesia and Colombia have been continually made by various stakeholders of the two countries. To make them more focused and coordinated, the two countries agreed to hold the first Joint Commission Meeting, in Bogota, Colombia (03/05). Director-General of America and Europe, Ambassador Dian Triansyah Djani, led the Indonesian delegates at the meeting, while the Colombian delegates led by Deputy Foreign Minister Monica Lanzetta Mutis.
