Opening 11 New Missions, FM Highlighted the Commitment to Good Relations

International cooperation is a necessity, and diplomacy will continue to give contribution in realizing the national interest. The establishment of Indonesian Missions cannot be separated from both. This was stated by the Minister of Foreign Affairs at the establishment of 11 new Indonesian Missions, Gedung Pancasila, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, today (29/12/2010).

However, the relations between the two nations have, in fact, been established long before the October revolution in Russia in 1917. RI-Uzbekistan to Strengthen the Relations

Indonesian ambassador to Uzbekistan, M. Asruchin, met the Chairman of the Senate of Uzbekistan, Ilgizar Sobirov (12/24/2010). They discussed the follow-up to the results of the Indonesian People's Consultative Assembly delegation visit in August 2010. The meeting was also intended to be an effort to improve bilateral relationship, especially in the field of inter-parliamentary cooperation.

Three Saman trees were planted in west side of National Monument Park today (12/17/2010). The trees were planted to commemorate 60 years of Indonesian- Russian diplomatic relations on February 3, 2010, and also to strengthen Jakarta-Moscow Sister City relationship which has been established since 2007.

After one year since Viet Nam assumed the position of ASEAN chairman in 2010, the Permanent Representative of Viet Nam, Ambassador Vu Dang Dung, handed over the duties and responsibilities as the Chairman of the Committee of Permanent Representatives to ASEAN /CPR to the Permanent Representative of Indonesia, Ambassador Ngurah Swajaya, in a CPR meeting held at the Secretariat of ASEAN, Jakarta (15/12). Theceremony was attended by the Secretary General of ASEAN, DR. Surin Pitsuwan, and the Deputy Secretary-generals of ASEAN, all Permanent Representatives of member countries and staffs.
