Last 17th of December, the Embassy of Indonesia has fulfilled the request for Angklung Indonesian traditional musical instruments of angklung by the School No.48 of the city of San Carlos de Bariloche located approximately 1550 km from Buenos Aires. In 2011, this school has celebrated its 90 years anniversary by performing a series of activities where the Embassy also participated with an Angklung performance in front of students, parents, and educational authorities of the city.
As part of the celebration of the 90th anniversary, the school wished to reform its Anklung group to enrich the knowledge and experience of its students, this was said by the director of the school, Mrs. Maria Elena Blanco, after receiving the symbolic donation of Angklung from the Embassy.
During the show, which was also the closing of the academic year, the Embassy´s artistic group performed some Indonesian traditional songs such as Es Lilin, Mojang Priangan, Goro-gorone, andine´s folklore la Vicuñita and the bolero Besame Mucho.
In 1997, the school had received a donation of Angklung instruments from the Embassy. Under the supervision of the music teacher at the time, Mrs.Alicia Esteves Aragonés, until the year of 2005, under her supervision this group had taken part in several events within and outside the school.
