Places of Study
The National Department Of Education in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is granting to 750 foreign students to obtain a scholarship to study in Indonesia. The Darmasiswa RI program is a scholarship program funded by the government of Indonesia and open to all foreign students from countries with which Indonesia has friendly relations, to study Indonesian languages, arts, music and crafts. Participants can choose to study at any of state universities and colleges participating in the program.
The Darmasiswa RI program consist in 3 (three) scholarship schemes, namely:
Regular program is one-year scholarship program offered to foreign student from countries which have diplomatic relationship with Indonesia to study Indonesian language, traditional music, traditional dance, and Indonesian craft in selected Indonesian Higher Education Institution.
1. Free of tuition fee2. Monthly allowance3. Participants may seek assistance from their own university in finding house/room to rent.4. Participants are requested to inform the Bureau of Planning and International Cooperation, Ministry of National Education regarding date and time of arrivals to Indonesia for pick up arrangement5. Signing a statement of declaration provided by the Embassy/Consulate before leaving for Indonesia6. Signing a contract letter provided by Ministry of National Education when arriving in Indonesia.
1. Bundle of candidate's application shall be submitted before the end of February 2012.2. Selection shall be conducted on the beginning of March 20123. The announcement is on the beginning of April 20124. Confirmation of participants' agreement is on the beginning of June 20125. The arrival of participants shall be on the beginning of August 20126. Orientation program shall be conducted on the beginning of August 20127. Classes will be conducted from September 2012 until July 20138. For University of Indonesia, class will be conducted on beginning of July 20129. For participants of Short Course program class will be conducted as from August 2012 until January 2013
To study in Indonesia, the Darmasiswa participant is required to have a social visit visa issued by the Indonesian Embassy in the participant's country of residence. Upon arrival in Indonesia, the Darmasiswa participant's passport has to be submitted to the Bureau of Planning and International Cooperation, Ministry of National Education, for necessary arrangements in obtaining recommendations of the State Secretariat and the Directorate General of Immigration, Departement of Law and Human Rights.
The participants are prohibited to apply for tourist visa for study purpose.
COVERAGE OF SCHOLARSHIP
The applicant can apply online using the following address: www.darmasiswa.diknas.go.id or filling out application form available at the Indonesian Embassy or Consulate General in the country of residence. In case the applicants apply online, he/she should notify the Indonesian Embassy or Consulate General.

ARRIVAL IN INDONESIAThe Government of the Republic of Indonesia, in this term is Bureau of Planning and International Cooperation, The Ministry of National Education does not provide airfare tickets. The Ministry of National Education will provide travel expenses for participant from Jakarta to the region, while the travel expenses from the region to Jakarta will be incharged by the participant.
The Ministry of National Education (MoNE) will not provide any health insurance, therefore the participants are expected to have the International insurance.
