Ambassador Linggawaty Hakim took office as the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Indonesia to the Swiss Confederation and Principality of Liechtenstein on 11 February 2014. She was formerly the Director General for Legal and International Treaties in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia (2010-2014), and previously served as the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Indonesia to the Kingdom of Sweden and the Republic of Latvia (2006-2010). She is graduated from the Faculty of Law, University of Padjajaran in Indonesia. She received her LL.M Degree in International Law from the University of Stockholm, Sweden. As a career diplomat, she has been assigned to various Indonesian representatives abroad, which include the Embassy of Indonesia in Stockholm (1988-1991), the Indonesian Permanent Mission to the United Nations in New York (1993-1998) and Mission to the European Union in Brussels (2000-2002). At the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, she was assigned at the Directorate of International Treaties - Directorate General of Political Affairs, as the Director for Non-United Nations Cooperation on Economic, Financial and Development Affairs (2002-2004) Directorate General of Multilateral Affairs, and as the Director for Socio-Cultural Affairs and Organizations of the Developing Countries (2004-2006) at the Directorate General of Multilateral Affairs.

The main task of the Information and Social Cultural Section is to enhance and promote bilateral relations between the Republic of Indonesia and the Swiss Confederation, as well as the Principality of Liechtenstein in the field of social and cultural issues. The section is also in charge of the public and media relations affairs of the Embassy.

The main tasks of the Protocol and Consular Section of the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Bern are to provide  protocol services which includes arrangement of official events of the mission, arrangement of official delegations, and diplomatic facilities arrangement with the host countries.


The Section also provides immigration service (visa and passport), consular service (notary service and other consular services) as well as protection of nationals and legal corporate bodies of Indonesia in Switzerland or Liechtenstein.
