The Government of Indonesia shall grant duty-free on any donation or gifts given by foreign donors to individuals or social organization for activities and projects related to religion, culture, emergency relief, education, health and other social-related activities. Any request for duty free on donation or gift must be approved by the Directorate General of Customs of the Ministry of Finance.

Gift certificate from the donor stating that the items are truly donation/ gift and not originated from Indonesian resources.
For medical supplies and equipments, a recommendation letter from the Directorate General of Pharmacy and Medical Equipment of the Ministry of Health is required. Specifically for medicine, an additional recommendation letter from the National Agency of Drug and Food Control (BPOM) is required.
For second hand items, a recommendation letter from the Directorate General of Foreign Trade of the Ministry of Trade is required.
The receiving party in Indonesia must present all documents to the Directorate General of Customs in order to receive the duty-free on the donations/ gift.
Any foreign documents must be legalized by the Swiss Chancellery either at Cantonal or Federal level (for Swiss based institution), or by the Chancellery of Liechtenstein (for Liechtenstein based institution).
