Visa Exemption Facilities (Free Visa)

​Starting from 2 March 2016, Chinese nationals are among the foreign nationals from 169 countries and territories eligible to travel to Indonesia using Visa Exemption (Free Visa) facilities.

Foreign nationals eligible for Visa Exemption facilities will be granted a maximum stay of 30 (thirty) days.  Such facilities are non-extendable and cannot be converted into another type of visa or stay permit. 

To be eligible for Visa Exemption, foreign nationals must have in their possession:

  1. A valid passport with minimum validity of 6 (six) months
  2. A return ticket or through ticket
  3. Proof of accommodation arrangements, such as paid hotel bookings or guarantee letters from Indonesian inviters

Visa Exemption facilities are granted to eligible foreign nationals who will be in Indonesia for the following purposes:

  1. Leisure and tourism
  2. Family visit
  3. Social visit
  4. Art and cultural visit
  5. Government visit
  6. Lectures and seminars
  7. Meetings held by head office or representative office based in Indonesia
  8. Transit

Visa Exemption facilities are not granted for journalistic purposes.
