VISA SERVICES

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS FOR VISA APPLICATION WITH ORDINARY PASSPORT:

  • A valid passport. Passport must be valid for minimum 6 (six) months from date of entry into Indonesia.
  • Copy of passport data page and latest previous Indonesian Visa or other country's visa (if applicable). 
  • Fully completed application form, dated and signed by the applicant. Write clearly in block letters. All questions (if applicable) must be answered and all documents in support of information in the form and in support of the purpose of the trip must be submitted.   • 2 recent (not longer than 6 months) colour passport size photographs with white background (full face, no dark glasses).
  • Travel itinerary. A reservation of airline ticket will suffice when submitting the application. The original confirmed ticket will have to be shown when collecting the visa.

·  Clearance certificate from NDLEA (for fresh passport/first traveller).

IN ADDITION, DEPENDING ON THE PURPOSE OF VISIT, APPLICATION MUST BE COMPLETED WITH THE FOLLOWING:

 

Business Visit

  • Introduction letter from applicant's company explaining its business activities, applicant's position in the company, the purpose of travel, and who will bear the expenses of the visit.
  • If the visit is to attend trade fair, applicant must be able to show convincing documentation about the trade fair and its connection to applicant's business activities. Applicant should also provide the proof of the registration and/or payment of participation (if applicable).
  • Original and copy invitation letter from Indonesian counterpart clearly stated the purpose of the trip.
  • Valid recent tax clearance certificate of the company.
  • Original and stamped Memorandum of Articles of Association of the company or the original and copy of Certificate of Incorporation.

·  Evidence of sufficient funds to maintain one's self during the visit (the last 2 months original bank statements of the applicant or the sponsor for duly stamped and signed by the branch manager with value of last credit equivalent to US$ 5.000 and/or traveller cheques).


·  Tourism Visit

  • Proof of accommodation reservation and/or tour package in Indonesia/place of destination.
  • Letter of introduction from applicant's employer. If self employed, a confirmation letter from applicant's solicitor, or accountant, or Bank Manager. For a student, submit confirmation letter of attendance from school, college or university. All of the above type of letters must certify the applicant's obligation to return after the visit to Indonesia


Social and Cultural Visit

  • Invitation letter from the host/organization that is hosting the event.
  • Letter of Guarantee and Acceptance of Immigration Responsibilities from sponsor.
  • Evidence that the applicant has sufficient funds to cover the cost of applicant's intended stay in Indonesia.
  • Evidence of obligation in the applicant country of permanent residence (e.g. a letter from employer/ college/ school, certifying the applicant intention to return after the visit to Indonesia).
  • Written approval from the Immigration Office in Indonesia should the duration of visit is to exceed 60 days.

For visiting relatives/friends/social organizations:

  • A letter of invitation from the applicant family/relatives/friends/social organizations in Indonesia, and copy of their passport (data page only) or National ID (KTP).
  • Evidence of sufficient funds or a third party letter guaranteeing to support the applicant financially during his/her stay, together with documentary evidence of ability to do so.

For study/training/research:

  • A letter of registration from the institution/college/school in Indonesia verifying the duration and nature of the course, training or research.
  • Evidence that all the necessary fees have been paid in advance. If the applicant is on a scholarship/award program, a statement/letter of confirmation from the sponsor(s)/awardees is required.

 

Diplomatic and Official/Service Visit

  • Diplomatic or official/service passport. Passport must be valid for min 6 (six) months from date of entry into Indonesia.
  • Fully completed application form, dated and signed by the applicant. Write clearly in block letters.
  • Two (2) recent (not longer than 6 months) colour passport size photographs with white background (full face, no dark glasses).
  • For Nigerian Passport: Diplomatic note from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Nigeria explaining purpose and duration of travel.
  • For other nationals: Diplomatic note from the related Embassy/High Commission of the applicants' country explaining purpose and duration of travel.

 

MINOR TRAVELER (UNDER THE AGE OF 16 YEARS) SHOULD PROVIDE THE FOLLOWINGS:

1.       PHOTOCOPIES OF THE PARENTS' PASSPORT (BIO-DATA PAGE) OR VALID ID;

2.       BIRTH CERTIFICATE;

3.      SIGNED LETTERS OF CONSENT FROM BOTH PARENTS.

 

A complete file does not guarantee the issuance of visa. Additional documents may be required.

Issued visa is not transferred to another type of visa under any circumstances.

 

VISA APPLICATION PROCEDURES

1.       Applicant should make copies of all related documents. Originals will be returned after verification during submission of the application.

2.       Complete visa application must be submitted between 09.00am and 12.00pm, Monday to Thursday (except on Indonesian and Nigerian public holidays) to Visa Counter at Consular Section of the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Abuja. All applications are subject to approval. Submission of a visa application does not necessarily mean that a visa will be granted.

3.       The visa form must be signed and dated before it is submitted.

If applicant is:

    *       18 years of age or older, sign and date in the boxes provided,

    *       less than 18 years of age, your form must be signed by one of your parents or legal guardian.

Note: If your application is not signed and dated, it will be returned.

4.       Once you have submitted your application, Consular Office will check to determine that:

    * all required application forms have been properly completed and submitted,

    * all requested supporting documentation has been provided.

5.       If visa application package is incomplete:

    *       application will be refused,

    *       application documents will be returned, and

    *       no record will be kept until a complete application has been submitted.

Note: If the Embassy suspects that fraudulent documents were submitted, they will not be returned.

6.       Complete visa application package will undergo a detailed review by Consular Office. The Consular Office will consider all the information and documentation you have provided, and will assess it and will decide if an interview is necessary. If so, applicant will be informed of the interview date, time and place.

7.       Visa application will be forwarded to the Immigration Service in Indonesia for approval. Indonesian Immigration will review and asses the application and will make necessary clarification and verification to the sponsor/inviter in Indonesia.

8.       If visa approval is granted, applicant will be notified to come to Consular Office with his/her passport for visa issuance. Visa is issued after visa approval letter from the Indonesian Immigration received by the Embassy. Visa collection is at Visa Counter at Consular Section of the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Abuja between 14.00 to 16.00.

9.       The granting of a visa is, in effect, only a form of pre-entry clearance. It does not grant permission to enter Indonesia. The Indonesian Immigration authorities at the port of entry reserve the right to refuse entry into Indonesia.

10.           All visa regulations are strictly adhered to for the good of each and every individual who wishes to visit Indonesia, in order to prevent any problems and complications with regard to their entry into Indonesia.

11.   It is most desirous that any traveller to Indonesia understands and duly respects the Indonesian Immigration regulations as well as the Embassy rules.

 

Notes on Visa approval from the Immigration Service of the Republic of Indonesia:

The Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Abuja can issue visa without visa approval from the Immigration Service of the Republic of Indonesia on the following conditions and in addition to the general requirements:

I. For business visit:

·       Purpose of visit is related to investment in Indonesia and/or has direct positive impact to the Indonesian economy.

·       Applicant must be able to provide proof of business transactions with Indonesian counterpart (e.g. original invoices, letter of intent, et.c.).

·       Passport must be valid for minimum 12 months from date of entry into Indonesia.

·       Original Bank statements of the company or of the applicant for the last 2 months duly stamped and signed by the branch manager with value of last credit equivalent to US$ 10.000.

·      Confirmed roundtrip or outbound airline ticket, mentioning the dates of departure and return.

·      Letter of Guarantee and Acceptance of Immigration Responsibilities from sponsor.

 

II. For tourism visit

·       Visa application should be submitted as a group (minimum 10 persons).

·       Visit is organized by registered bona fide travel agent in Nigeria which has counterpart travel agent in Indonesia.

·       Letter of Guarantee and Acceptance of Immigration Responsibilities from the travel agent.

·       Confirmed roundtrip or outbound airline ticket, mentioning the dates of departure and return.

II. For social and culture visit

·       Proof of previous travel to Indonesia minimum 3 times within 1 year.

·       Confirmed roundtrip or outbound airline ticket, mentioning the dates of departure and return.
