Visit of the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy of the Republic of Indonesia to Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso

Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy of the Republic of Indonesia, Dr. Mari Elka Pangestu visited Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso on 10th April 2013 and met with Prime Minister of Burkina Faso, H.E. Luc-Adolphe TIAO for courtesy call to pass on personal greetings from the President of Indonesia to the President of Burkina Faso, and to discuss bilateral relations as well as to exchange views regarding the trading system, trade and development and the WTO.  Minister Pangestu is Indonesia’s candidate for the Director General of the World Trade Organization (WTO).

 

On her visit to Ouagadougou, Minister Pangestu also met with the Secretary General of the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Handicrafts of Burkina Faso, Mr. Bernard G. ZOUGOURI as well as Director General for International Trade of the Ministry, Mr. PARE Nazaire.

 

The visit to Burkina Faso is part of the various visits the Minister has made to various member countries to seek inputs and exchange views on the trading system and the WTO. 

 

The Minister visited Burkina Faso as it is an important and active member, as well as representing one of the key Franco Zone African countries, least developed countries and coordinator of Cotton.
