In collaboration with the Indonesian Women Corps (Kowani), the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs organized a Seminar with the theme “Strategies in Facing ASEAN Economic Community 2012” at SMESCO, UKM building, Jakarta, 9 May 2012. This seminar was delivered by three speakers, namely Dr. Donna Gultom from Indonesian Ministry of Trade; Dr. Monthip S. Tabucanon from National Council of Women of Thailand; and Ho Thi Quy, the Director for Supporting Women on Economic Development and the Member of Presidium, Vietnam Women’s Union.

In order to encourage the national economy through the tourism sector and support the efforts of the Government of Indonesia to increase the number of foreign tourists to visit Indonesia, the Directorate of South and Central Asian Affairs in collaboration with the Department of Culture and Tourism of the Province of East Java held the 2012 Familiarization Trip (Fam Trip) of Countries in South and Central Asia Region to the East Java province on 9-12 May 2012.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs in cooperation with the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries of the Republic of Indonesia will jointly conduct 2 (two) training programs for Asia, Pacific, and African Countries, including the Melanesian Spearhead Group (MSG) Countries/Members, namely (i) “International Training Program on Freshwater Aquaculture for Asian, Pacific, and African Countries” and (ii) “International Training Program on Fisheries Processing Product for Melanesian Spearhead Group (MSG) Countries/Members”.

Agency of Policy Analysis and Development (BPPK) of the Foreign Ministry is organizing a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) carrying a theme of “Development of Export and Promotion of Foreign Partnership in Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) Sector”. The FGD will be held in Jakarta on 3 May 2012 as a part of the BPPK’s Studies on the optimization of economic diplomacy.

The Dissemination of Implementing Agencies Facilities to Development Partners was held in Jogjakarta by the Directorate of Technical Cooperation of the Directorate General of Information and Public Diplomacy, the Foreign Ministry on 23-25 April 2012. The event is one of the Indonesia’s South-South Cooperation and Triangular Cooperation Forum (Indonesia’s SSCTC) activities which was inaugurated by Foreign Minister Marty M. Natalegawa on 9 April 2012.
