As part of the ongoing efforts to promote Indonesian products and tap into the African market, the Indonesian Embassy in Nairobi on 15-18 June 2012 participated on the 5th Africa Export & Import Fair 2012 at Kenyatta International Conference Centre (KICC), Nairobi, Kenya.
An Indonesian booth was set up at the event, with display of leading products from several Indonesian companies such as PT. Astra Otoparts Tbk., PT. Pabrik Kertas Tjiwi Kimia Tbk., PT. Sri Rejeki Isman (SRITEX), PT. Multi Commodity Indonesia (MCI), KINO Group Companies, PT. Sinar Karunia Sejahtera, Michafur Meuble, PT. Elang Perdana Tyre Industry, PT. Ateja Tritunggal, and PT. Irawan Djaja Agung. In addition, products from companies like PT. Indofood Sukses Makmur Tbk. (Indomie) which were already available at the Kenyan market were also displayed at the booth.
The 5th Africa Export & Import Fair is an annual event organized by Exhibition & Events Organizers Ltd. with support from the Kenyan Trade Ministry and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The event aims to be the forum for interaction between businesspeople in Kenya with their counterparts abroad, particularly within the context of export and import. This year, around 71 private companies and government institutions participated at the event.
